Wednesday, November 29

We started the day by reviewing words that have the letter Ee. Students worked on a worksheet independently and colored in pictures of various images that have a long E sound. After, students did a matching exercise where they matched the image to the correct word.

Math: Data Management Review

Students continued reviewing and analyzing different types of graphs, and how to count and write tally marks.

During circle time, students were asked to count the tally marks on the board and print the number.

After, we conducted a survey to find out what is the most favorite winter activity. Students came up to the board and put a tally mark beside their favorite activity.

After, we used the tally marks to make a bar graph.

After, students did their own bar graph to find out what everyone wears on their hands during winter (i.e, gloves or mittens) Students conducted their surveys by asking their peers. After, students came back to the carpet and shared their findings with the class.

Unit of Inquiry: Sensational Senses

Today, students reviewed their summative presentations. After, we looked at different books about the five senses. Students wanted to explore their sense of smell, so we read about how our noses work and help us to smell things. After, we made a list of things that have good/bad smells.

After, as a class we reviewed the spelling words for the test tomorrow.
