Friday December 1st

We started off the day practicing for the Christmas concert in the auditorium. All SJA students participated in singing "Have Yourself a Merry Little Christmas" for the grand finale.

After, we practiced our song "Jingle Bells" on stage in front of an audience.

Morning Calendar: Students were really excited to see the month change from November to December. We counted how many more days left until Christmas!

Show & Share

Syra shared her hatchimal egg for the short e sound.

Math: Addition

Students were introduced to the new math unit, addition.

We started the lesson by looking at a photo of different trains. Students observed and counted all of the trains in the picture.

Students noticed that each train had 6 carts attached to it, some were red and some were blue.
Students discovered that they can show numbers in different ways by adding.
(i.e 4 and 2  make 6, 3 and 3 make 6, 5 and 1 make 6)

After, students worked in their workbooks and showed the number 5 in different ways by adding two different colors on cubes.

After, students used colored links to make 5
