Thursday, March 8th

Phonics/Journal

We started the day off by reviewing words that have the X sound. After, students wrote a list of words that have X and worked on a worksheet to show their understanding.





Math: Money

We reviewed what a penny is and how much it's worth. 
We sang the "count by 5's song"

The students really enjoy singing along to this song and it is helping them count by 5's!


After, we played a shopping game where students had to place the correct amount of nickels to purchase a toy.
After, students worked on a worksheet.

Unit of inquiry: Space

Today we explored the planet, Neptune

We watched a video with Ms. Bancud's class. After, students created a craft.

Wednesday, March 7th

Phonics

We started the day off by exploring the letter X. We watched bounce patrol and jack hartmann



After, we brainstormed words that have the X sound and then students used play dough to create the letter!

Math: Money

Today we explored the nickle! We reviewed how to count by 5's and used nickles to display money. After, students completed a worksheet to show their understanding.

Unit of Inquiry: Space

Today we explored the planet, Uranus. We discovered that Uranus is the second largest planet in our solar system and it is the coldest.  After, students did a craft to create the planet.

Tuesday, March 6th

Super Hero & Princess Day!



Congratulations to Kai & Syra for raising the most money for jump rope for heart fundraiser!


Phonics: Today we explored the letter Y. We watched bounce patrol & Jack hartman to discover words that have the Y sound. After, students worked on a letter Y worksheet and used playdough to create the letter.


Math: Place value & money

Students continued to explore the penny. We reviewed what a penny is and its value. After, students took turns being the "cashier" in our shop. Students had so much fun playing and purchasing items using pennies!

Unit of Inquiry: Space

Today we explored the planet, Saturn. We watched a video to learn more about the planet. After, students created a craft using paper plates to create the planet.
