Show & Share
Our friends presented their show & share this morning

After Show & Share, students worked on their spelling pre-test.

After the test, we practiced our Christmas song and dance

Math: Data Management

We continued exploring graphs and using tally marks to show numbers and to display them in a bar graph. Students were also introduced to probability.
We looked at a picture together which had things that would never happen such as, a fish corssing the road, an elephant driving a car, things that sometimes happen such as; a child falling and the sun shining. Students were able to describe what was happening in the picture and if it never happens, sometimes happens or always happens.

After, we brainstormed things that never, sometimes or always happens that they see around school.

After, students worked in their math workbook and came up with their own list of things that never, sometimes or always happens.

Phonics

We reviewed long a and short a sound and words. Students came up with various words that have the sound Aa in it. After, students had to sort the words into two groups based on their sound.

We tallied them up to see which group had the most.

Gym with Mrs. Jans was cancelled today so the students and I did some yoga in the classroom.

Unit of Inquiry: Sensational Senses

After, students counted the tally marks and used the data to create a bar graph.

After, students continued to explore how they can sort objects, count, use tally marks and then with that information they can produce a bar graph.

Students worked on a worksheet where they counted different objects from a birthday party and used tally marks to show the amount. After, students created a bar graph with the data and then they analyzed the graph.

Students discovered that November has the most birthdays. August and April have the second most birthdays and January, Feb., May, Oct., and Sept. have the least amount of birthdays.

After, students wanted to know what the most favorite T.V show is. Students asked their peers what their favorite T.V show is, we even went to Ms. Bancud's SK class and asked them.

We counted and tallied the results.
