Unit of Inquiry

Today students continued to learn about their sense of touch. Students worked in different centers around the room to explore the different textures of touch.

The centers included: drawing area, playing with shaving cream and reading. The students had a blast!

Today we continued learning about the letter Oo. Students brainstormed more words that have the short /o/ sound. After, students worked on a letter O worksheet.

Patterning Review Day 4

We continued reviewing different types of patterns. Students were asked to guess what type of pattern I created with blocks and were asked to continue the pattern. After, students worked on doing ABBA patterns and then created their own pattern and labeled it!

Unit of Inquiry: Sensational Senses

Today we explored our sense of touch and made slime!

Students participated in helping make the slime. Students were excited to help and watch the process of how slime is a made.

Students touched the slime and described what it felt like!

Moring Routine..

Our calendar helper, Devan helped in removing the October month and dates.

Students were excited to see the month change to November!

Phonics

Today students learned the sound, action and song for the letter Oo. We are focusing on the short sound /o/ found in words like, off, log, frog, October etc.

Students watched bounce patrol and then we brainstormed words that have the O sound...

After, students used play dough to create the letter Oo and Gg. Some students even made words!

students reviewed different types of patterns. Students worked in their math workbook and created their own pattern and labeled it.

Students wrote about that they did on Halloween. Students copied sentence prompt, On halloween I...

and wrote about what they did on halloween and drew a picture.

Unit of Inquiry: Sensational Senses

Today we talked about our sense of touch. Students developed an understanding to objects that are and are not safe to touch. 

As a class we brainstormed a list of objects that they think are safe and are not safe to touch...

After, students worked on an activity worksheet that contained a list of pictures such as an oven, matches, fire, hot tea, shoes, ice cream etc. Students cut out the pictures and sorted them out based on what they can or can not touch.
